For gummy deposits, possibly best is acetone, but it will probably take the colour out of the pad, so perhaps alcohol as a poor contender. For mineral deposits, none of the above. With a PASSIVE speaker system, traditionally the weak part is the speakers, so replacing the speakers often allows you to use more power without them sounding like garbage, and without blowing the speakers.
